Mission   - Adhering to the principles of Ataturk, the aim of the program is to enhance students' skills to draw monuments and civil architecture samples of monuments and building elements, analyzing them, determining the existing condition and drawing the drawings of restoration, restitution and restoration projects. - To enhance students' skills to prepare the inventory of immovable cultural heritage and to learn and apply the methods of utilizing the use of photography in landscape drawings and contemporary methods. - To ensure that sufficient information is obtained about regulations, technical specifications, footage, discovery and and progress payment. - To teach the history of art and architecture and to ensure that these information is used correctly during the project implementations. - To teach the properties, application, causes of deformation and conservation methods of materials used in monuments and examples of civil architecture.   Department Opportunities - To learn the contemporary techniques required for applications related to the field as well as conventional methods, to make effective use of tools, machines, and information technologies, - To acquire the ability to make projects and details related to the field and communication techniques by using computer-aided drawing and software, - By acquiring the importance of life-long learning and research; to be able to follow national and international developments related to the profession; to gain the conscious of continuous renewal, also to have sufficient knowledge of foreign language (English), - By using adopted knowledge and skills acquired, to gain ability to handle and determine issues, to gather and interpret information, to develop solution suggestions and to make projects and reparation, in other occupation related fields, such as in the offices, atelier, construction area, during the archaeological excavations and sites.   Career Opportunities Department graduates can work at architectural offices, ateliers and workshops, archaeological excavations and sites, subsidiary units of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, museums, the directorate of Surveying and Monuments, the directorates of conservation and restoration center laboratories, the directorates of KUDEB (as a subsidiary unit of metropolitan municipality), the directorates of KUDEB (subsidiary units of the district municipalities), and in the regional directorates of the General Directorate for Foundations. Department graduates can transfer to four-year architecture, interior architecture, movable cultural property restoration and tile repair programs through DGS exam.
