Purpose and Content

The aim of the course	The aim of this course; To gain competence in evaluating patients who come to physiotherapy before, during and after the treatment, by using objective methods. To provide the student with basic information about the way the musculoskeletal system works, physical measurement and evaluation techniques of the musculoskeletal system. Knowing the common spinal disorders, rheumatic diseases and musculoskeletal system problems in the health institution where the physical therapy technician serves and being able to apply the treatment program prepared by the physiotherapist.

Weekly Course Subjects

1	Introduction, explanation of lesson objectives and functioning of patient history, the basic principles of the movement.
2	Posture analysis (anterior and lateral posture analysis).
3	Posterior postural analysis.
4	Testing and evaluation of muscular shortness and flexibility.
5	Anthropometric measurements; circumference and length measurements and diameter measurements of fat tissue.
6	Normal range of motion assessment-I.
7	Normal range of motion assessment-II.
8	Normal range of motion assessment-III.
9	Midterm Exam
10	Muscle strength assessment-I.
11	Muscle strength assessment-II.
