The Department of Sociology was established within the Faculty of Science and Literature of Istanbul Aydın University in the 2013-2014 academic year.
Starting from the fall semester of the 2019-2020 academic year, Prof. Dr. Haci DURAN continues to serve as Head of the Department of Sociology.

Career Opportunities:
By receiving pedagogical formation, graduates of the Sociology Department can work as teachers in high schools, as well as in municipalities, Strategic Research Centers, Juvenile Correctional Facilities, prisons, nurseries, dormitories for children in need of care, State Institute of Statistics, State Planning Organization, chambers of industry, unions, etc. They can work in organizations as sociologists, research experts, assistant experts or civil servants.
