Purpose and Content

The aim of the course	To give the basic information about last design and shoe and bag design notiion.
Course Content	Shoe and bag design notion, design process, foot analysis, illustration,shoe analysis, last analysis, last illustrations, woman and man shoe lasts illustrations, prepare a collection, making sample.

Learning Outcomes

Learns the history of shoe and bag design
With his/ her designs, correlates market trends and fundamental marketing issues
Works at management of the design department
Learning design processes.
Getting to know about pattern making process.
Notion of fashion. To be learned where and how to follow generally clothing and specific shoes and bag fashion trends.
Utilizes creative techniques at preparing original designs
Makes necessary calculations by using last measurement systems and related information
Determines needed materials by using leather measurement units and quantity calculation method
Recognizing that shoes and bag materials.
Learning that shoe production techniques.
Using drawing techniques about black-white picture and color picture.
Knowing tools, machines and software related making design and pattern.
Predisposition to teamwork. Executed activities within area of responsibility.
Generates the appropriate solutions to problems faced by the initiative.
Knowing the anatomical structure of the human foot.
Examines the types and dimensions of the last.
Knowing how to use 2 and 3-dimensional computer programs related to vocational
Uses a general-purpose computer drawing programs.
Knowing how to use computer programs which are Word, Excel, Power Point.
Recognizing that sectors of shoe and saddlery.
Smoothly talk, write, express oneself and understand what they read or listened in the Turkish language.
General and related to the profession to have an intermediate level of English.
Sensitive to social responsibilities.
In professional and personal life to know the ethical behavior rules.
Exhibiting behavior that is appropriate.
Making original shoe and bag designs from concept.
Making sole, heel and shoe- bag accessories designs.
Preparing last designs.
Pattern making of shoes and saddlery products.

1	Design notion, shoe and bag design.
2	Design process and perastation technics (Project- 1: To design a product with leather, syhntetic or textile material.)
3	Process of product research, design and drawing.
4	Sample and drawing.
5	Production and to finish the project.
6	Foot analysis and foot drawings.
7	Foot analysis and foot drawings (Continue).
8	Project- 2: Shoe design project about a social matter.
9	Project- 2 (continue).
10	Project- 2 (continue).
11	Project- 2 (continue).
12	Project- 3 Last designing entry, last analysis, kinds of last, sources of inspiration (5 picture and drawing).
13	Production process of last, last fashion trends,draw five versions of the last that is choosen.
14	To make last model from soap and aerated concrete. To make prototype of the last that is choosen from aerated concrete.
