General Information

The undergraduate program of the psychology department is a 4-year, 8-semester program requiring 30 ECTS credits in each, with a total of 240 ECTS credits. The psychology department aims to provide its students with scientific knowledge and practical experience by internalizing a multidisciplinary perspective in their individual and social responsibilities. The science of psychology includes cognitive and behavioral processes at the individual and group level. It includes scientific and academic research topics in many areas such as socio-cultural, developmental, forensic, personality theories, psychopathology, and the relationship between the central nervous system and behavior. From this point on, the most basic goal of the program is to provide students with basic theoretical knowledge and skills by including the research techniques and methodology of psychology from social sciences. In line with this purpose, the program is designed to cover the theoretical infrastructure of psychology and scientific research skills, focusing on the professional and academic skills of students in the academy or business environment in the future. The program offers students a variety of courses that enable them to learn psychology and its various sub-branches, aim to grasp the multidisciplinary perspective, and contribute to their research skills in higher education after graduation. The department's core missions are to train psychologists who have a basic scientific understanding, are knowledgeable about the basic theoretical approaches and subfields of psychology, have an interdisciplinary perspective, attach importance to research and development, have adopted the necessity of lifelong learning, and have internalized ethical values. They are qualified to meet the ever-changing needs of people and society.

Career Opportunities:
Those who receive a bachelor's degree in psychology can work as researchers in academic environments, consulting companies or other institutions. Graduates find jobs in a wide variety of environments such as public relations and media, human resources, advertising, marketing, social services and education-focused non-governmental organizations, preschool education institutions and private education institutions.
