What is a Double Major ?
It is a program that allows students who successfully complete their undergraduate programs to simultaneously take courses in a second undergraduate program of their interest and receive a diploma.
When Can You Apply for a Double Major Program?
Students can apply to a second major diploma program at the beginning of the 3rd semester at the earliest and at the beginning of the 5th semester at the latest in a 4-year major undergraduate diploma program if they meet the necessary conditions.
Students who will apply for a Double Major must have successfully completed all courses they have taken in their major until the semester they apply, and their general grade point average in the major diploma program must be at least 3.00 on the quadruple scale at the time of application and must be in the top 20% in terms of success ranking in the relevant class of the major diploma program. (Students who are not in the top 20% in terms of success ranking in the relevant class of the major diploma program but have a general grade point average of 3.00 and above can also apply to the double major program, provided that they have the same type of score, not less than the base score of the relevant year of the program in which they will do a double major.)
What is a Minor Program?
It is a program that allows students who successfully complete their undergraduate programs to receive a certificate by taking simultaneous courses in a second undergraduate program they are interested in.
When Can You Apply for a Minor Program?
Students can apply to a minor program at the beginning of the 3rd semester at the earliest and at the beginning of the 6th semester at the latest in a 4-year major undergraduate diploma program if they meet the necessary conditions.
Students who will apply for a minor program must have successfully completed all courses they have taken in their undergraduate program until the semester they apply and their GPA in the major program must be at least 2.50 at the time of application.
What are the Application, Admission and Continuation Conditions for a Double Major/Minor Program?
Double Major/Minor procedures are carried out within the framework of the "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer Between Associate and Undergraduate Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer" and the "Istanbul Aydın University Double Major and Minor Program Directive".
