Purpose and Content

The aim of the course	In the lesson Russian Grammar II, the aim is to raise "language" consciousness in candidate translators and to raise awareness in students on subjects like the scope of language in our life and its power. In the lesson, some differences and similarities between the linguistics and usages of Turkish and Russian. In the lesson, translation applications on the levels of short sentence and compound sentence consisting of different difficulties are also going to be performed.
Course Content	It is a follow-up of the studies made in the lesson Russian Grammar I. The aim is to develop the evaluation making skills of students in both languages.

The aim of the course

Learning Outcomes

Have information about the history of Russian language and its place among Slavic languages
Learn correctly idiosyncrasy and linguistics (syntax, morphology) of Russian language.
Have extensive knowledge about Russian literature and culture and the requirements of translation profession
Learn the history and practice of translation from Russian to Turkish and Turkish to Russian with examples.
Recognize the companies and the professions in which they can speak and work.
Have ability about sampling the authenticity of Russian language among the other Slavic languages.
Have practical knowledge and skills about the structural similarities and differences between Russian and Turkish
Acquire the ability to speak Russian properly with proper pronunciation.
Students gain the ability of mutually translation about any cultural and social field in both languages
Using the knowledge and the bases of Russian language knowledge they work on various topics such as technical texts, literary works, commercial correspondence, media, press releases and film translations.
Work as a translator in translation companies and interpreting services firms.
Participate in Russian or SSCB consolate and such areas like tourism, foreign trade, media and publishing.
Possess specific knowledge and vocabulary for the translation of any literary text.
Have necessary basis accumulation of general culture.
Acquire the work and study discipline required to complete the translation task on time.
Make written and oral translations in social, cultural and artistic areas.
Correctly detect information and application fields.
Use their time sparingly and consistently.
Students have self-criticism and queasiness properties.
Develop continuous learning conscious towards to Russian culture and other Russian-speaking cultures.
Have the competence of using technological equipment.
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Transfer knowledge and skills acquired in the field by translating into various topics.
Using the Russian language well enough to translate, communicate with other translators or other people who speak this language.
Inform the others about the intercultural place of interpretation profession.
Makes translation into literary works, technical documents, commercial correspondence, legal and social sciences, film, newspaper, print media, media translation, simultaneous and consecutive translations.
Knows the translation theories necessary to make the best translation and specializes in how to use it.

1	Active and inactive verbs in Russian and how to use them.
2	Passive constructions with imperfective verbs and exercises.
3	Passive constructions with perfective verbs and exercises.
4	Reflexive verbs wihch are ending with – ся
5	Introduction to participles.
6	Usage of active voice participles with imperfective verbs in present tense.
7	Usage of active voice participles with imperfective and perfective verbs in past tense. Exercises.
8	Usage of passive voice participles with perfective verbs in present tense.
9	Mid term exam
10	Usage of passive voice participles with perfective verbs in past tense.
11	Exercises about passive voice participles with perfective verbs.
12	Degrees of comparison of adjectives and their usage in sentences.
13	Excellent degree of adjectives and their usage in sentences.
14	Full and short form of adjectives. Exercises. Preparation for final exam.
