Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The principal aims of this course are: improving their knowledge about simultaneous translation, acquiring simultanous translation competence. improving students’ skills and their performs in simultaneous translation. It’s also aimed to give information about translation issues and to solve translation issues using translation strategies.
Course Content Introducing simultaneous interpreting; the importance of conferance interpreter in communication, the tools and equipment used and take notes will be discussed. The students will perform using their skills and knowledge in translation. They will make translations from Russian to Turkish and from Turkish to Russian. Students will be informed about several translation strategies and possible translation issues in simultaneous translation.
