Purpose and Content

The aim of the course	In the COMPARATIVE LANGUAGE APPLICATIONS course the aim is to give the students the awareness of 'language' and to make them conscious of issues like the place and potency of language in our lives. In this course, some diffrerences and similarities in Turkish and Russian grammar and usage in a way that will equip students for tranlation practice. Also, translation practice at the level of short sentences and compound sentences of varying difficulty will be carried out in the course.
Course Content	The comparison of different linguistic structures in both languages. A comparison will be made between similar or different structures in both languages that serve the same purpose.

The aim of the course

Learning Outcomes

Have knowledge of Russian language, grammar and other languages that are influenced by the word.
Have knowledge on the countries where citizens speak Russian language.
Has a basic level of knowledge concerning the theories, facts, concepts and principles related to the field of study.
Get information about the companies and the professions in which he / she can work.
Recognize concepts, principles and facts related to the areas where Russian is used.
Use basic level knowledge acquired at the same level or at a further level of education.

Using Russian grammar theories and bases works on various topics such as technical texts, literary works, commercial correspondence, media, press releases and film translations.
Works as a translator in translation agencies and firms which give interpreting services.
Entitled to teach Russian under the name of specialist teacher in public and private schools.
Participate in many areas such as tourism, foreign trade, banking, media and publishing and in Russian or SSCB consolate.
Can independently carry out a translation from Russian into Turkish and from Turkish into Russian.
Implement the requirements of the work ethic and acts in accordance with their needs.
Can work in and take responsibilities in teams where higher level translation is carried out.
Can do written translation and oral interpretation in social, cultural or artistic activities.
Ready to work with open-minded people from different cultures and groups.
Speak to the community and have the ability to make presentations.
By using the information study in the needed fields in society.
Channels the education to a profession in a further level of education.
Combine the knowledge of Russian and translation skills learned with another profession or business sector and does work related to Russia and Russian in that field.
Develop a continuous learning awareness related to Russian culture and other Russian-speaking cultures.
Have capabilities of basic information technology usage.
Transfer knowledge and skills acquired in the field of Russian interpreting into various topics.
Discuss the problem and the proposal of translation with other expert translators
By using the Russian language at least as competently to do translation in any field, communicates with other translators who speak Russian or with people from other fields in which he/she is working.
Use pulpit at the level that meets the day-to-day needs in translation and other jobs.
Have capabilities of verbal and written communication.
Behave like an enterpreneur and have initiative.
Learn the grammar rules of the Russian language in the best way and has the Russian vocabulary at the level for translating.
Have Russian knowledge on the level that can speak and express his ideas in every subject and business in Russian.
Can do translations in such fields as the translation of literary works, techical documents, laws and regulations, commercial correspondence, social sciences, film, newspaper, written media, simultaneous and consecutive translation.
Know the translation theories to be able to translate in the best way and specializes in translation methods which used in different subjects and fields.

4	Reflexive verbs ending with ''ся'' (Собственно-возвратные глаголы -ся)
5	The use of reflexive verbs in regard to reflexive verbs ending with ''ся'' and exercises
6	Entry to participle. Verbal adjective.(Причастия)
7	The use of imperfect verbs and participles with active case in present tense.(Действительные причастия настоящего времени от глаголов НСВ)
8	The use of imperfect and perfect verbs and participles with active case in present tense.(Действительные причастия настоящего времени от глаголов НСВ и СВ)
9	Mid-term exam
