Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The aim of this course is to provide the students gain the basic concepts and information of tourism; have information on the values that make up and build up general knowledge of the geography of Turkish Tourism.
Course Content The contents of this course are as follows: concepts of Tourism and recreation Geography; supply and demand in tourism in terms of attractiveness; tourist attractions in the world and in Turkey.

1Definition of tourism, definition of tourists and knowledge on other conceptions.
2Should be aware of tourism and other branches of sciences and have knowledge in the relationship with the tourism.
3Information on the kinds of tourism.
4Know factors affecting tourism.
5Development of tourism, the place and importance of tourism in the economy.
6Information on the assets of tourism demand.
7Tourism supply / information on the culture and the art as touristic product
8Information on the Touristic Concentration Factors and its Causes.
9Mid-Term Exam.
10Information on the solutions and the results of touristic concentration. Information on Tourism Policy.
11Information on the problems of tourism planning.
12Tourism information on non-governmental organizations
13Information on future trends and international tourism.
14Information on museums, archeological sites, natural wealth and Turkey`s historical sites.
